Rays Designate Pitcher For Assignment

The Tampa Bay Rays have designated Javy Guerra for assignment. 

Guerra was recently acquired by the Rays from the San Diego Padres. With Tampa Bay, it's fair to say that he has struggled, as he had a 0-0 record and 8.44 ERA in six appearances. Thus, this move is one that fans could have seen coming at the end of the day.

It will be intriguing to see if another team decides to claim him off waivers or trade for him from here. He has had his fair share of struggles in the majors, but perhaps another change of scenery could benefit him. In 33 career games between the Padres and Rays, he has a 1-0 record and 8.45 ERA.
