Orioles Send Catcher To Triple-A
Last week, the Baltimore Orioles designated Anthony Bemboom for assignment. Now, the veteran catcher has cleared waivers and has accepted a demotion to Triple-A Norfolk.
Due to Bemboom's experience, he had the option to elect free agency. Instead, he is betting on himself to land an eventual promotion with the Orioles. Yet, for him to do that, he will need to impress the franchise by playing well in Triple-A.
In 22 games this season with the Orioles, Bemboom has one home run, one RBI, and a disastrous .115 batting average. Yet, perhaps this move to the minors could increase his confidence at the plate moving forward. Alas, time will tell what happens on that front.
