Orioles Pitcher Done For The Season
The injury bug is refusing to leave the Baltimore Orioles alone. After losing John Means for the rest of the season, Chris Ellis is now set to have season-ending shoulder surgery.
Ellis' 2022 season ends with just two starts in the sport's most competitive league. During them, he had a 0-0 record, 10.38 ERA, and two strikeouts. Obviously, with numbers like those, it's clear that the 29-year-old struggled mightily. However, had he not been injured, he would have had an abundance of time to change that. Yet, with this development, that unfortunately will not come to fruition.
This season-ending injury is also worsened by the fact that Ellis is very much still trying to cement himself as a major-league pitcher. In 10 career games over three seasons between the Royals, Rays, and Orioles, he has a 1-0 record and 3.12 ERA. Here's to hoping we can see him come back and thrive in 2023.
