Orioles Ace Signs Two-Year Contract
Although Baltimore Orioles ace John Means had Tommy John surgery, he officially has a new contract. The Orioles and Means agreed to a two-year, $5.925 million. This decision also stopped them from going to arbitration.
Means will not be back on the mound until at least the 2023 season, so it ultimately makes sense that he isn't making as much as he could have when healthy.
Given Means' importance to the Orioles, they naturally are hoping for him to have a speedy recovery. In 70 career games with Baltimore, he has a 20-24 record and 3.81 ERA. With that, he was an All-Star during the 2019 campaign.
