MLB Rumors: Royals Veteran Pitcher To Be Traded
During the offseason, the Kansas City Royals signed Zack Greinke to a one-year contract and began an unexpected reunion. Yet, with the team starting the season with a 10-18 record, they could elect to move the veteran before the trade deadline passes.
Although Greinke has played on some very good teams over his 19-year career, he has yet to win a World Series. This fact could lead the 38-year-old to be open to a change of scenery once we get closer to the deadline. If made available, there definitely would be a market for him.
In six starts this season with KC, Greinke has a 0-2 record. However, even with the losing record, he has still been effective. He sports a solid 2.67 ERA to go along with 10 strikeouts. Over the course of his 536-game career, he has a 219-134 record and 3.40 ERA. With that, he is also a six-time All-Star, one-time Cy Young Award winner, and six-time Gold Glove Award winner.
