MLB Rumors: Royals To Make Big Trade
The 2022 season hasn't been a good one for the Kansas City Royals, and big changes could be on the way because of it. With Andrew Benintendi set to be an unrestricted free agent at the season's end, don't be surprised to see him moved before this year's deadline.
Benintendi is quietly having an excellent season at the plate, so he definitely is helping raise his trade value in the process. In 29 games on the year, he has only has one home run, but he also has an impressive .314 batting average to go along with 12 RBIs. Thus, he has been effective when hitting for contact.
Benintendi also has a Gold Glove Award and World Series ring on his resume, so that also will make him a very appealing target to many teams at the deadline. Alas, let's see what happens with the 27-year-old from here.
