MLB Rumors: Athletics To Trade Outfielder
During the offseason, the Oakland Athletics began their fire sale and traded away several of their top players. More moves are expected to be on the way before the trade deadline, and one player we will likely see dealt is Ramon Laureano.
Laureano recently returned to the lineup after an 80-game suspension for testing positive for performance-enhancing drugs. So far, the start of his 2022 season hasn't been the greatest, as he has a .167 batting average in 16 games. However, he also has a 24-home run campaign on his resume, so he is known for having some solid power. Thus, a bounce-back of some kind is to be expected.
Laureano also comes with a solid amount of MLB experience, so that also should make teams call the A's about him. In 329 career games with the A's, Laureano has 49 home runs, 151 RBIs, and a .259 batting average. It will be intriguing to see what happens with him as we get closer to the deadline.
