Marlins Pitcher Opts Out Of Contract
Grant Dayton is a free agent again, as the 34-year-old has opted out of his minor league contract with the Miami Marlins.
Dayton signed with Miami during the offseason in hopes of landing a call-up to the major league squad. Yet, it's become clear that he isn't in the team's plans, so he will now be aiming to find a way back into the show elsewhere.
In 99 career games between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Atlanta Braves, Dayton has a 3-4 record, 3.43 ERA, and 119 strikeouts. Overall, his decent amount of MLB experience could help his chances of signing elsewhere, but time will tell on that front.
