Marlins Call Up Utilityman
The Miami Marlins have called up Willians Astudillo to their major league roster.
Immediately following his call-up, Astudillo had his first two plate appearances of the season but failed to get a hit. However, he has plenty of time to turn things around from here. If he can put up a handful of strong games, it could help him maintain a permanent spot on the major league roster from here.
Astudillo's versatility will also help his case to stay with the Marlins. A truly unique player, he can play catcher, first base, third base, second base, and the outfield. In 168 career games between the Twins and Marlins, he has 15 home runs, 66 RBIs, and a .269 batting average.
