Marlins And Giants Complete Trade
The Miami Marlins have acquired Luke Williams from the San Francisco Giants in exchange for Hayden Cantrelle.
A trade centering around Williams was certainly predictable, as he was designated for assignment by the Giants a few days ago. In eight games this season with the major league squad, he had zero home runs, three RBIs, and a .250 batting average. The 25-year-old will now be joining his third major league team with the Marlins, where he will provide them with more depth.
Cantrelle, on the other hand, is a prospect who is trying to make his way to the majors. Regarded for his versatility, the youngster can play shortstop, second base, and center field. In 28 games this season with Double-A Pensacola, he has three home runs, 10 RBIs, and a .185 batting average.
