Mariners Sign Catcher
The Seattle Mariners have signed Andrew Knapp to a minor league contract.
Knapp recently elected to become a free agent after the Pittsburgh Pirates designated him for assignment. In 11 games this season with Pittsburgh, he had zero home runs, two RBIs, and a .129 batting average. Overall, it wasn't a very impressive start for the veteran, but he will now be hoping to rebound and land a call-up to Seattle from here.
Knapp's solid amount of major league experience could help his chances of getting called up by the Mariners. In 320 career games between the Phillies and Pirates, he has 13 home runs, 64 RBIs, and a .210 batting average.
