Mariners Reliever Transferred To 60-Day Injured List

Things just keep getting worse for Ken Giles. The Seattle Mariners have transferred the reliever to the 60-day injured list due to a strained tendon.

Giles was initially expected to be ready for Opening Day, but due to the severity of his latest injury, his return has been pushed back. Giles has unfortunately not been able to pitch in the majors since 2020 due to having Tommy John surgery.

The Mariners are certainly hoping that Giles can return to action once his time on the IL is officially over. The veteran has put together a strong career, and it will be intriguing to see if he can remain effective after so much time away from the mound. In 357 career games between the Astros and Blue Jays, he has a 14-18 record, 115 saves, and a 2.74 ERA.
