Mariners Claim Pitcher Off Waivers
The Seattle Mariners have a new pitcher, as they have claimed Adrian Sampson off waivers from the Chicago Cubs.
Sampson is a familiar face, as he pitched for the Mariners back in 2016. Now, in 2022, he will be aiming to become a part of their major league squad yet again.
Sampson is a pitcher who has some major league experience but hasn't been able to cement himself a permanent spot in the league. In 52 career appearances over five seasons between the Mariners, Rangers, and Cubs, he has a 7-14 record and 5.13 ERA. Due to the fact that he can work in both the rotation and bullpen, perhaps that could help his chances of sticking around with Seattle from here.
