Legendary Yankee Hall Of Famer Joins Social Media
When he played the game, for all of those legendary 20 years, it was rare for anyone to get an insight into the off-field persona of New York Yankees Hall Of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter.
Now, he's letting it all out, joining Twitter and Instagram, and it didn't take long for an embarrassing childhood picture of him to get posted by his wife.
“It’s never too late to be an influencer. You got this babe @derekjeter", was the caption by Hannah Jeter, as she posted a big-hair pic of kid Derek.
As for Jeter himself, he started by posting a tweet saying "Looks like I've officially run out of excuses", and then followed with "Looks like I might as well go all out for this social media thing" by joining IG.
He then posted a video of himself reading a series of "Fan Tweets". Sort of a Jimmy Kimmel-like thing, but in true Jeter style, it was only good, wholesome tweets that he read and responded to.
Hey @markwahlberg, let me know if you need an extra in the next movie. #FanTweets @Twitter @TwitterSports pic.twitter.com/eqWff5C5bi

He even addressed the haters, saying "I don't understand the hate sometimes... But it's better than people not having an opinion. It also means I was doing my job."
Lots more wholesome content to come from the Captain, no doubt.
