Giants Outfielder Designated For Assignment
The San Francisco Giants have designated Luke Williams for assignment.
Williams was traded by the Philadelphia Phillies to the Giants before the start of the 2022 season. Since then, the 25-year-old appeared in eight games with San Francisco. During then, he had a .250 batting average to go along with three RBIs. Yet, it wasn't enough for him to maintain his spot on their 40-man roster, so he now will either be traded or placed on waivers over the next week.
Williams' young age and versatility could make him an appealing option for other clubs around the league. In 66 career games, he has one home run, nine RBIs, and a .245 batting average.
