Giants Acquire Infielder From Marlins
The San Francisco Giants have acquired Isan Diaz from the Miami Marlins for cash considerations.
Diaz has made appearances at the major league level in each of the last three previous seasons. In 2021, he saw his most MLB action, however, as he played in 89 games. During them, he had four home runs, 17 RBIs, and a .193 batting average. Over the course of his entire 145-game career, he has nine home runs and a .185 batting average.
Diaz isn't a player who has had much success at the plate during his short career. Yet, he will offer the Giants some much-needed versatility, as he can play second base and third base. Perhaps the change of scenery could be exactly what the 25-year-old to progress.
