Dodgers Sign Veteran Pitcher
The Los Angeles Dodgers are bringing back an old friend, as they have signed Pedro Baez to a minor league contract.
Baez pitched for the Dodgers from 2014 to 2020. In 362 games with the team, he sported a 21-15 record and 3.03 ERA. However, after joining the Houston Astros, he dealt with injury trouble and struggled on the mound. This led to the veteran being designated for assignment earlier this season, but now he is getting a second chance in LA.
If Baez can bounce back, he should become a solid part of the Dodgers' bullpen for the remainder of the season. However, he will need to impress to earn himself a call-up first. His past success should help his chances of eventually landing one, though.
