Cubs Infielder Sent Down To Triple-A
After clearing waivers, Ildemaro Vargas has been sent down to Triple-A Iowa by the Chicago Cubs.
The Cubs designated Vargas for assignment a few days ago, so his future with the organization was in jeopardy. However, he is now going to be sticking with the franchise and will be aiming to impress in Iowa. If he does, perhaps he could receive another call-up to the Cubs later in the year.
In 10 games this season with the Cubs, Vargas has one home run, one RBI, and a .130 batting average. He certainly had his struggles, so he will be hoping for the opportunity to bounce back if called up.
