Cubs Call Up Pitcher

The Chicago Cubs have called up Matt Swarmer to their major league roster. 

Swarmer will not have to wait long to make his major league debut for the Cubs, as he is set to start Chicago's first Monday game. Naturally, fans will be keeping a close eye on what the longtime minor-leaguer because of this. 

Swarmer has been off to a very good start with Triple-A Iowa, so perhaps it isn't too surprising that the Cubs are giving him a chance during their doubleheader. In nine games on the year, he has a 3-1 record to go along with a 2.08 ERA. He will now be aiming to carry over this success to the Cubs from here.
