Cardinals Pitcher Shut Down With Shoulder Soreness
After being without him all season to this point, the St. Louis Cardinals have gotten even more discouraging news on right-handed pitcher Alex Reyes. He's been shut down from throwing.
Alex Reyes experienced right shoulder soreness while throwing this week and has been shut down. Had an MRI; #stlcards are seeking a second opinion. Asked how discouraging this news is, Marmol said “very.” “He’s been through a lot…you hope he can make it back.”

According to Cardinals beat writer Jeff Jones, Reyes experienced right shoulder soreness while throwing this week, leading to the shut down. Cards manager Oliver Marmol said this is "very" discouraging news. “He’s been through a lot…you hope he can make it back.”
Reyes was diagnosed in mid-March with a frayed right labrum, and it was expected at that time that he could miss two months. Now, two months later, things obviously haven't gone well.
