Brewers Lose Another Ace Starter To The Injured List
With Freddy Peralta already out for a couple of months, the last thing the Milwaukee Brewers needed is another front-line starter to go down. Unfortunately, that's the case today as Brandon Woodruff has been placed on the IL.
Brandon Woodruff is going on 15-day IL with a high right ankle sprain,Craig Counsell said. He returned to Milwaukee last night to see Dr. Raasch. He’s still feeling pain/soreness after throwing yesterday. They’re hopeful it’ll be close to the minimum time.

According to Brewers reporter Sophia Minnaert, Woodruff said he just can't throw the way he needs to with the high ankle sprain.
Woodruff said overall the diagnosis is a best case scenario, but unfortunate because his body feels great and the ankle issue popped up. He can’t throw the way he wants to with the injury.

The diagnosis, overall, is seen as a "best case scenario" however, and it's hoped that he'll miss the minimum 15 days.
Woodruff left Friday's night's start against the St. Louis Cardinals, with "ankle inflammation." The imaging revealed the high ankle sprain.
The six-year veteran is a two-time All-Star, and finished 5th in Cy Young Award voting last season. Currently, he's 5-3 with a 4.74 ERA, while striking out 10.9 batters per 9 innings.
