Brewers Cut Veteran Pitcher
The Milwaukee Brewers have designated Jose Urena for assignment.
Because Urena is a veteran, he can elect to become a free agent if he passes waivers. However, if other teams need some help with their pitching, they could give him a shot. He hasn't looked too bad this season with the Brewers, as he sports a 3.52 ERA in four games.
Urena comes with a good chunk of experience, so that should help his chances of finding a new home - whether through waivers or free agency. In 172 career games between the Miami Marlins, Detroit Tigers, and Brewers, he has a 36-54 record and 4.76 ERA.
