Braves Sign Utilityman
The Atlanta Braves have signed Hernan Perez to a minor league contract.
Perez will of course be hoping that this minor league deal eventually lands him a promotion to Atlanta's major league roster. During the 2021 season with the Washington Nationals, he didn't spend too much time in the sport's most competitive league. In 10 games on the year, he had just one hit in 19 at-bats.
Although he struggled last season, there's reason to believe that he could land a call-up with Atlanta. This is because he provides immense versatility. He is capable of playing second base, third base, and the outfield if needed. Furthermore, he has a lot of overall experience. In 651 career games between the Tigers, Brewers, Cubs, and Nationals, he has 45 home runs, 180 RBIs, and a .250 batting average.
