Angels Outfielder Designated For Assignment

The Los Angeles Angels have designated Aaron Whitefield for assignment.

When looking at Whitefield's struggles this season, perhaps this is a decision that fans could have predicted. In 11 at-bats on the season, he failed to record a hit and struck out five times. Now, he will be either placed on waivers or traded from here.

Whitefield is a player who is very much still trying to cement himself a permanent spot in the majors. In eight career games between the Twins and Angels, he is still looking for his first career hit. Perhaps if he finds a new home, that will change shortly.
