White Sox Pitcher Inching Closer To Return
According to James Fegan, Chicago White Sox pitcher Joe Kelly is expected to begin his rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte before the end of April. With this, if all goes according to schedule, he should be in the White Sox's bullpen by May.
Kelly signed a two-year, $17 million contract with Chicago during the offseason. If he can carry over the success he had with the Dodgers there, he will immediately become a key part of their 'pen. Yet, he will first need to fully heal from his nerve injury before this is possible.
Kelly is coming off of a strong 2021 season with LA. In 48 games with the club, he had a 2-0 record, 2.86 ERA, and 50 strikeouts This also came after he had a 1.80 ERA in 12 games with the team, so he's been having a lot of success lately.
Nevertheless, here's to hoping all goes well with Kelly's recovery and that he will join the team very shortly.
