WATCH: Freddie Freeman Hits Home Run Against Braves
During Monday's game, Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman played against his former team, the Atlanta Braves, for the first time since leaving them via free agency. Before the contest, there were some special moments between him and his former teammates. Perhaps seeing his old friends sparked him, as he hit a home run in his first at-bat of the game.
Interestingly, this also was Freeman's first home run as a Dodger. Although his power numbers have been a bit lower to start the new year, he's still been having a solid start at the plate elsewhere. In 10 games, he has the home run, five RBIs, and an impressive .325 batting average. As he continues to get more used to his new club, we likely will see his home run totals skyrocket, too.
Yet, when remembering how huge of a figure Freeman was to the Braves, this home run feels like an extremely special one.
