Washington Nationals Sign Reliever
The Washington Nationals have signed Zack Burdi to a minor league contract.
Burdi spent the 2021 season between the Chicago White Sox and Baltimore Orioles. In seven games on the year, he sported a 0-0 record and 5.40 ERA. Overall, his major league experience isn't too much greater than that, as he only appeared in eight games previously with the White Sox the season before. Now, in 2022, he will be aiming to earn himself a promotion to Washington's roster.
At this juncture of the season, the Nationals have a 6-14 record. Thus, they are in a position where they could elect to call up other players in the near future. Yet, if Burdi doesn't get promoted, the Nats have at least added more depth to their pitching staff.
