Twins Sign Veteran Reliever
The Minnesota Twins have signed Jake Petricka to a minor league contract.
This is a cool moment for Petricka, as he is a Minnesota-native and will have the chance to be a member of his hometown town. However, he also will need to fight his way to a major league spot. The 2021 season was a rough one for the 33-year-old, as he had allowed 10 runs in just six innings pitched with the Los Angeles Angels.
Yet, when looking at Petrick's resume, it's fair to say that he has the potential to bounce back. In 235 career games between the Chicago White Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, and Angels, he has a 10-13 record and 4.24 ERA. If he has it his way, he will have the chance to build on these numbers with the Twins from here.
Overall, there's nothing wrong with this move. The Twins have added to their pitching depth and if Petricka impresses, he could become a part of their bullpen.
