Twins Designate Pitcher For Assignment
The Minnesota Twins have designated Dereck Rodriguez for assignment.
Rodriguez appeared in one game with the Twins so far this campaign, and in it, it's fair to say that he struggled a bit. In four innings pitched, he allowed three earned runs on four hits and three walks. That was enough for the team to make this decision with him.
Yet, it will be interesting to see if another club gives him a shot. Teams are always looking for pitching depth, and Rodriguez would provide just that. He comes with a decent amount of experience, too. In 52 career games between the Giants and Twins, he sports a 12-15 record and 4.31 ERA.
Alas, it will be interesting to see what happens with Rodriguez from here.
