Tigers Sign Veteran Pitcher
The Detroit Tigers have signed pitcher Derek Law to a minor league deal.
Law appeared in nine games last season with the Minnesota Twins, where he sported a 4.20 ERA and 0-0 record. He also pitched in 18 games for Triple-A St. Paul and had a 2.54 ERA. Now, in 2022, he will be hoping to land himself an eventual call-up to the Tigers and stay there.
The Tigers have already been hit by the injury bug early on during this campaign, so it is understandable why they have given Law a contract. He comes with a decent amount of major league experience and could eventually be a part of their bullpen if he does well in Triple-A this year. In 176 career games between the San Francisco Giants, Toronto Blue Jays, and Twins, he has a 10-5 record and 4.22 ERA.
