Tigers Provide Update On Matt Manning
During Saturday's game, Detroit Tigers pitcher Matt Manning left early due to pain in his right shoulder. That certainly was a concerning development, but thankfully, there's now a positive update regarding his condition. According to manager AJ Hinch, Manning's shoulder has no structural damage. Instead, he just has inflammation and tendinitis.
With this news, Manning is not expected to miss much time at all. Instead, the 24-year-old pitcher will now rest up until his shoulder fully heals.
Manning is off to a solid start this season with the Tigers, as he has a 0-0 record and 2.25 ERA. He has looked pretty confident on the mound, so it's a shame that this injury has him currently sidelined. Yet, if he can maintain this form once he returns, it could be a breakout year for him. Alas, we will have to see what comes to fruition from here.
