Tigers Designate Pitcher For Assignment

Detroit Tigers pitcher Bryan Garcia has been designated for assignment. 

Although Garcia started the 2022 season with the major league club, he did not make a single appearance. However, even with this being the case, he appeared in 72 games over the previous three campaigns. In 2020, he was excellent, as he had a 2-1 record and 1.66 ERA in 26 games. Yet, last season was a turn in the completely wrong direction, as he had a disastrous 7.55 ERA in 39 appearances.

With this development, Garcia will now have the opportunity to be claimed by another team off waivers. When looking at his 2020 season, it doesn't seem completely out of the question that another club could take a chance on him. Time will tell on that front, but it's clear that the Tigers are already open to making changes this early on into the campaign.
