Tigers Call Up Outfielder
With Victor Reyes forced to miss some time because of a quad strain, the Detroit Tigers have now called up Derek Hill from Triple-A.
Hill is a pretty familiar face to the organization, as he made appearances with the Tigers over the two previous seasons. In 64 games with the club, he had three home runs, 14 RBIs, and a .247 batting average. Now, with this most recent call-up, he will be aiming to improve upon these career totals.
Hill should very well get some playing time while Reyes is unfortunately sidelined. This presents him with a good opportunity to show the Tigers that he can be a serviceable MLB player. Even if he gets sent back down to the minor leagues once the team is healthy, playing well could result in him getting more call-ups later this season.
Alas, let's see how the outfielder performs for the Tigers from here.
