Tigers And Brewers Complete Trade
The Detroit Tigers have acquired Jamie Westbrook from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations.
With the Tigers already being hit with the injury bug, it makes sense that they are bringing in a player like Westbrook. He has the ability to play in both the infield and outfield, so he will provide Detroit with multiple options if called up to the major league squad.
Westbrook has yet to play in the majors, but he does stand a good shot of doing so now with the Tigers. In 89 games split between Double-A and Triple-A last season, he had 12 home runs, 54 RBIs, and a .281 batting average. He also represented Team USA at the 2020 Summer Olympics.
Nevertheless, this is a small move but one that could benefit the Tigers. It's never a bad thing to add to your depth.
