Tampa Bay Rays Option Pitcher
To open up a roster spot for Javy Guerra, the Tampa Bay Rays have optioned Tommy Romero to Triple-A.
Romero made his major league debut for the Rays this season, and so far, it hasn't been the greatest of starts. In two appearances, he has allowed four runs on two home runs and three hits in just 3.2 innings pitched. Yet, he will now be aiming to bounce back from a rough start to the year back in Triple-A.
Although Romero is back in the minors, there's reason to believe he could eventually land himself another call-up later this campaign. Keep in mind, in 23 games last season between Double-A and Triple-A, he had a solid 8-2 record and 2.61 ERA. If he can replicate that form, perhaps he will land himself another chance.
