Seattle Mariners Select Pitcher
The Seattle Mariners have called up Matt Koch to their major league roster. This comes after the news that Sergio Romo will be missing time due to shoulder inflammation.
This is exciting news for Koch, as it is the first time he has been on a major league roster since the 2019 season with the Arizona Diamondbacks. That campaign was a bit of a rough one for him, though, as he allowed 21 earned runs in just 20.2 innings pitched. With this, he had a rough 9.15 ERA. Now, in 2022 with Seattle, he will be hoping to bounce back mightily.
In 36 career games, all with the Diamondbacks, Koch has a 6-6 record and 4.88 ERA. It will be intriguing to see just how much these numbers change this campaign with the Mariners. For now, however, he will be aiming to cement himself a permanent spot on their major league roster. Time will tell what comes to fruition on that front.
