San Francisco Giants Sign Pitcher
The San Francisco Giants have signed Daniel Tillo to a minor league contract.
Tillo is a pitcher who is aiming to cement himself a spot in the majors. The 25-year-old is still working on his development, however, so he will likely be beginning this campaign back in the minor leagues. Although this is the case, there's certainly no risk in the Giants giving him an opportunity with their franchise.
After having Tommy John surgery in 2020, Tillo returned to the mound last year in Double-A. In 17 games, he had a 0-3 record and 4.63 ERA. Overall, it wasn't the best of campaigns for him, but he will now be aiming to turn things around in 2022.
At worst, the Giants have added to their pitching depth with this move. Yet, if Tillo can have some success in the minors this season, we very well could see him land a call-up later on.
