Royals Infielder Likely Done For The Season

While speaking to reporters, Kansas City Royals GM Dayton Moore announced that Adalberto Mondesi has suffered a torn ACL. As a result of this, his season is expected to be over.

In 15 games this season, Mondesi has zero home runs, three RBIs, and a .140 batting average. Unfortunately for the veteran, he will  likely not have the chance to fix this rough start to the year.

Mondesi has spent the entirety of his seven-year career with the Royals. In 358 career regular-season games, he has 38 home runs, 157 RBIs, and a .244 batting average. He will be missed most when it comes to his speed, though, as he is always a threat on the basepaths. His 133 career stolen bases show that effectively.

Nevertheless, here's to hoping that Mondesi can have a speedy recovery and maybe see game action before this fall. Yet, due to the severity of this injury, it feels like a long shot.
