Red Sox Claim Outfielder Off Waivers
The Boston Red Sox have added to their outfield, as they have claimed Jaylin Davis off waivers from the San Francisco Giants.
The Red Sox were easily able to put Davis on their 40-man roster because they had a spot available. As a result, they were also permitted to send him immediately down to Triple-A Worcester.
However, Davis stands a good shot of eventually receiving a call-up from the Red Sox. The 27-year-old has made major league appearances in each of the last three seasons, so who's to say that he can't with Boston?
In 26 career games with the Giants, Davis has two home runs, four RBIs, and a .159 batting average.
