Rays Claim Pitcher Off Waivers
The Tampa Bay Rays have claimed Ben Bowden off waivers from the Colorado Rockies.
With this claim, the Rays have immediately placed Bowden in Triple-A Durham. However, that doesn't automatically mean that he will not see some time in the majors, too. The Rays are known for making several call-ups per season, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Bowden get some reps with the big league team shortly.
Bowden is currently aiming to cement himself as a permanent MLB pitcher. As a rookie last season with the Rockies, he appeared in 39 games, where he sported a 3-2 record and 6.56 ERA. Now, he will be hoping for the opportunity to improve upon his career stats, but as a member of the Rays.
