Philadelphia Phillies Sign Outfielder
The Philadelphia Phillies have signed Roman Quinn to a minor league contract.
Quinn has spent the entirety of his major league career with the Phillies, so he certainly is a familiar face. He appeared in 28 games for the team last season, where he had zero home runs, two RBIs, and a .173 batting average. His time as Phillie was over briefly when he signed a minor-league deal with the Miami Marlins before this season, but he was released after not making their roster.
Since 2016, Quinn has appeared in 178 career games with Philadelphia. In total, he has eight home runs, 38 RBIs, 39 stolen bases, and a .228 batting average. He will be aiming to earn himself a call-up to the majors during this season so he can help build on these totals.
Nevertheless, the Phillies have added to their outfield depth with a player that they know very well. Thus, it's hard to find much to complain about with this move.
