Orioles To Bring Back Veteran Starter
According to Jon Heyman, the Baltimore Orioles are set to sign Matt Harvey to a minor league contract.
Matt Harvey is close to a deal with the Orioles. Will be a minors deal. Plan is for him to start in Florida in O's extended spring camp and build up.

Harvey is a familiar face to the Orioles organization, as he played the 2021 season with them. In 28 starts with the team, it's fair to say he had his struggles, as he sported a 6-14 record and 6.27 ERA. Thankfully for him, the new year offers a clean slate, and he will be aiming to make their major league roster yet again.
If Harvey ends up making the Orioles' roster, he will likely be utilized as their fifth starter. With Baltimore expected to be at the bottom of the MLB standings yet again this season, it doesn't hurt them to add a veteran like Harvey to the bottom of the rotation.
In 180 career games between the New York Mets, Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Angels, Kansas City Royals, and Orioles, Harvey has a 50-66 record, 4.42 ERA, and 867 strikeouts. It will be interesting to see how much these numbers change if he ends up playing for Baltimore this season.
