Orioles Send Outfielder Down To Triple-A
After going starting the regular season 0-for-3 with the Baltimore Orioles, the team has decided to send DJ Stewart back down to Triple-A.
Stewart has made appearances in each of the last five seasons for Baltimore, so this is certainly an intriguing development. He also played in a career-high 100 games last season for the team, where he had 12 home runs, 33 RBIs, and a .204 batting average.
Although Stewart will be back in Triple-A, there's reason to believe that he could find himself back with the Orioles soon. As stated above, he has been in their lineup in each of the last five seasons. Furthermore, if he performs well in the minors, that will only help his chances of landing an eventual call-up.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how Stewart responds to this demotion.
