Orioles Place Ace On Injured List
The 2022 season has been a rough one for the Baltimore Orioles already. At this juncture, they have a 1-5 record and seem destined to be at the bottom of the AL East again. Now, things have worsened, as John Means has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to an elbow strain.
At this juncture, the severity of Means' injury doesn't seem too high. Yet, given the fact that it is his throwing elbow, the Orioles will need to be very careful when it comes to bringing him back. If he worsens his injury, it could result in it being a long-term one. Given his importance to the club, it would be very bad for Baltimore.
Means has started in two games this season and has once again found success during them. Although he has a 0-0 record, he sports a respectable 3.38 ERA and has seven strikeouts in eight innings pitched. Once he is ready to return, the Orioles will be hoping for him to maintain this form. Until then, the 2019 All-Star will need to focus on recovery first.
