Orioles Ace To Have Tommy John Surgery
One week ago, the Baltimore Orioles placed John Means on the 10-day injured list. Shortly after, he was moved to the 60-day IL and was hopeful to return in June. Yet, the severity of his injury is now forcing the team's top pitcher to have Tommy John surgery.
This surgery will also keep Means out for much of the 2023 season as well, so this is obviously very hard news for the Orioles. Yet, it ultimately is the best move for his career, as doctors confirmed that he has to get it.
Means was once again off to a very good start this campaign. In two games, he sported a 0-0 record but also had a solid 3.38 ERA. Since his All-Star season in 2019, Means has found ways to continue to improve. Yet, we baseball fans will have to wait quite some time before we see him on the mound again.
Nevertheless, we here at BaseballRumors.Me would like to wish Means a speedy recovery.
