Nationals Send Pitcher To Triple-A
The Washington Nationals have sent Patrick Murphy back down to Triple-A Rochester.
Murphy was designated for assignment last week and went unclaimed while on waivers. Now, as a result of this, he will be aiming to bounce back with Rochester. Perhaps if he performs well, he could find himself back in the majors later down the road.
Murphy pitched in six games this season with the Nats. In them, he had a 0-0 record and a 6.35 ERA, so he certainly had some struggles. Over the course of his 35-game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Nationals, he has a 0-3 record and 4.76 ERA. We will have to wait and see when he will be able to build on these major league career stats again.
