MLB Rumors: 3 Potential Trade Destinations For Frankie Montas

After the lockout was lifted, the Oakland Athletics traded Matt Olson, Chris Bassitt, Matt Chapman, and Sean Manaea. It was well-known that they were going to be trading their veterans, and they stayed true to their word. Yet, the one player who is left that hasn't been moved yet is Frankie Montas. That is expected to change shortly, and these three teams are certainly potential trade destinations for him.

Chicago White Sox: The White Sox and Athletics have had trade discussions centering around Montas. Oakland is heavily interested in Andrew Vaughn as well, so there could be a match here. With the White Sox looking to make a push for the World Series this season, adding Montas to their rotation would be a good way to try to help with that.

Minnesota Twins: The Twins have had trade talks with the Athletics about Montas, too. They had a huge offseason that saw them make many moves, and it's clear that they are hoping to be a playoff team again. Yet, with the team starting with a 4-6 record, perhaps that will make them push for Montas even harder from here.

Kansas City Royals: The Royals have been surprisingly linked to Montas. He would immediately become of their top starters if acquired and would make them more competitive. If an agreement can be reached between both parties, why shouldn't KC look to add the veteran to their rotation?
