Minnesota Twins Select Outfielder
The Minnesota Twins have selected Kyle Garlick's contract. As a result of this, the 30-year-old outfielder will once again be joining the major league squad.
Garlick spent a decent amount of time with the Twins last season. In 36 games, he had a career-high five home runs, 10 RBIs, and a .232 batting average. Yet, hernia surgery made his season end early. Although the club placed him on waivers during the offseason, he is now getting the opportunity to play with them again.
Garlick has made appearances in each of the last three seasons. Yet, for the first time in his professional career, he will have the opportunity to play for the same team for more than one year. In 78 career games between the Los Angeles Dodgers, Philadelphia Phillies, and Twins, he has eight home runs, 19 RBIs, and a .225 batting average. It will be interesting to see how much these career stats change by the season's end.
