Mets Pitcher Close To Returning
The beginning of the 2022 season really couldn't be much better for the New York Mets. At this juncture, they have an 11-5 record even with all of their current injuries. Yet, according to manager Buck Showalter, Taijuan Walker is very close to returning to the mound.
After his first start of the season, Walker was placed on the 10-day injured list. However, it appears that he likely will not have to miss much more time than that with this development. That certainly is positive, as the Mets have multiple pitchers out already this campaign.
Walker was an All-Star last season but was inconsistent as the year progressed. By the end of it, he sported a 7-11 record and 4.47 ERA. Thus, this season he will be aiming to find his previous form, so his return could certainly be very beneficial for the Mets. We will have to wait and see on that front.
