Mets And Yankees Complete Trade
The New York Mets have acquired Joely Rodriguez from the New York Yankees in exchange for Miguel Castro.
It isn't all too common to see these two New York teams make trades, so this certainly is an interesting development.
Rodriguez split last season between the Texas Rangers and Yankees. In 52 appearances on the year, he had a 2-3 record and 4.66 ERA. Yet, it's also important to note that he did quite well with the Yankees, as he had a respectable 2.84 ERA in 21 regular-season games.
Castro just completed his second season with the Mets in 2021. In 69 games, he sported a 3-4 record and 3.45 ERA. Overall, he had himself a pretty solid campaign throughout it, but even with this being so, the Mets feel comfortable moving him.
Nevertheless, this is a pretty intriguing trade. We will have to wait and see how each pitcher does with their new club.
